How do we fit all of Europe into one web page for you? How do we cram information on 30 or more countries into a few paragraphs that will help you decide where to go or what to see and do it all within your budget? We’re not sure, but we’re positive that a trip to Europe can be an experience of a lifetime. A trip to Europe can be an experience that will make all the expenses and effort worthwhile.
On this portion of euro.ca, we’ve brought together some tidbits of information that we hope will encourage you to explore Europe.

For example did you know that Slovakia is a country with one thousand one hundred and sixty registered mineral and thermal springs? Even Marcus Aurelius´ Roman legions tried out the thermal water and several of the better-known spas are visited every year by patients from many countries of the world.

Or that in the Algarve region, on Portugal’s southern coast, there are almond trees as well beaches. And Austria is perfect for swimming, hiking, cycling or just simply relaxing. If you’re a golfer some of the most challenging golf courses are in Europe. Ballybunion in Country Kerry in Ireland is one of the undisputedly finest golf courses in the world.

Tiny Luxembourg has an incredible amount of history. The capital city’s Wenzel Walk, named for Wenceslas II, Duke of Luxembourg between 1383 and 1419, is a three kilometre self-guided tour that winds along Roman-era paths.

England, Scotland and Ireland aren’t the only countries with castles. In the Czech Republic, more than 200 castles and chateaux are open to the public.

In bustling London, you could stay a month and never run out of things to see and do. Traditional favourites like Big Ben and Buckingham Palace have recently been joined by a new attraction, the London Eye observation wheel that lets you get a bird’s eye view of this great city. Pick up a London Pass to see all the sites!

Most Canadians travel to Europe during the summer but you should consider fall or even winter for your European vacation. There are fewer crowds and it’s less expensive. The weather can still be warm but the pace is less hectic and you can relax a bit more. In winter you can ski, skate and snowboard just like at home, but with a definitely more exotic flavour.
